Poor Bam Bam, Poor Me

One day last week when I picked Bam Bam up from preschool her amazing teacher apologized because my little girl had suffered a minor accident, was left with a bruise on her arm and a scratch on her forehead, and the teacher could not have felt any worse about it.  She even wrote up an "Ouch" report, had iced her arm and given her lots of TLC for good measure.  I wasn't phased in the least.  She's a toddler and accidents happen.  Bam Bam was long over it by the time I picked her up, so no worries on my part.

Meanwhile, when I got home and put my kids down for their nap, bruises and all, I fired up my laptop which immediately crashed.  My heart sank.  I had a sick, burning feeling deep in the pit of my stomach.  I demanded answers.  How could this have happened?  What could have been done to better protect something that means so much to me?

I truly hope my kids grow-up to someday appreciate all of the effort I put into finding competent people to watch them when I didn't want to.
